Burj Khalifa:
The pinnacle of architectural excellence
One of the coolest things about the Burj Khalifa is that it’s not just a tourist spot—it’s actually a place where people live and work!
This towering giant is both residential and office space.
Some floors are filled with beautiful apartments, where lucky residents wake up to sunrise views over the Dubai skyline and fall asleep under the stars—right from their window.
Other levels are made for offices and businesses. Talk about an impressive workplace! Just taking the elevator up would feel like an adventure. Imagine having your morning coffee while staring down at the clouds!
Fun Facts
The design is based on the Hymenocallis flower (a desert lily). Its petals inspired the Y-shaped floor plan, which helps reduce wind forces and adds structural strength.
The Burj Khalifa collects about 15 million gallons of water every year from air conditioning condensation. That water is reused to irrigate the landscaping, clean the building, and feed the fountains.

🕰️ The Burj Khalifa usually opens every day from 9 AM to around 11 PM. The evening times are the most popular because of the sunset and the night views—absolutely breathtaking!
The highest level open to the public is Level 154, and trust me, standing there feels like you’re on top of the world!
Construction began in 2004, and after six years of work, the Burj Khalifa officially opened on January 4, 2010. The building was originally going to be called “Burj Dubai“, but it was renamed Burj Khalifa to honor the president of the UAE, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who helped fund the project during the global financial crisis.
A tower that defies gravity and expectations
From the 154th floor of the Burj Khalifa, I stood by the glass wall, looking down at the dazzling streets of Dubai. As I traced the skyline with my eyes, one building stood out just across the way: the Address Sky View by Emaar Properties.
This isn’t just any building—it’s a twin-tower masterpiece, joined together by a Sky Bridge floating more than 220 meters above the ground. From up here, I could spot the bridge’s sleek curve, and I knew it wasn’t just for show. That bridge holds one of the world’s most incredible infinity pools, stretching out 70 meters long and giving swimmers a front-row seat to the Burj Khalifa itself. Imagine floating there, looking back at the tower I was standing in!
Dubai’s crown jewel, shining bright
Looking down from the 154th floor of the Burj Khalifa felt surreal—like floating above the clouds. And right below, I spotted one of Dubai’s most magical sights—the Dubai Fountain. From that height, it looked like a sparkling ribbon of water dancing in the middle of the city. So tiny from up there, yet so full of life and rhythm!
The Dubai Fountain is located right at the base of the Burj Khalifa, on the Burj Lake next to the Dubai Mall. It’s the world’s largest choreographed fountain, and when the show starts, it truly steals the spotlight. The water jets shoot up as high as 150 meters (about 500 feet)—that’s as tall as a 50-story building!
Reaching for the sky, touching the stars
I finally got to experience The Lounge at Burj Khalifa—and wow, it truly lives up to the hype! Located on Levels 152, 153, and 154, this place holds the title of the highest lounge in the world. I was literally sitting 585 meters (that’s over 1,900 feet!) above the ground, and the views of Dubai’s skyline were absolutely unreal.
From the moment I walked in, I was surrounded by luxury and comfort—plush chairs, elegant lighting, and a calm, classy vibe. It felt like being in a cloud, only with better service and fancier snacks!
And the food and drinks? Top-notch! I had a lovely afternoon tea with delicate pastries and fragrant teas, though they also offer evening cocktails if you’re going later in the day.
What made it extra special was how exclusive it felt. No long lines, no crowds—just peace, a great view, and that feeling of being somewhere truly special.
Sky-high elegance, unmatched grandeur
I purchased a ticket for The Lounge at Burj Khalifa and let me tell you—it was worth every dirham! Our small group was greeted warmly and ushered into a cozy waiting room where they handed each of us a VIP tag. Right away, we could feel the special treatment kicking in.
Before heading up, one of the staff gave us a quick rundown of what to expect—luxury, elegance, and the highest lounge in the world! Just hearing that got me even more excited.
Then came the elevator ride—smooth, fast, and surprisingly quiet. In less than a minute, we zoomed all the way up to Level 154. That’s 585 meters (or 1,919 feet) in the sky! The doors opened to reveal something that felt like a scene from a movie.
The 154th floor is simply breathtaking. It’s quiet, exclusive, and filled with plush seating and soft lighting. There’s a sense of calm luxury everywhere you look. The huge floor-to-ceiling windows gave us 360-degree panoramic views of Dubai—from the coastline to the desert, from the towers to the winding roads below.
We were served gourmet treats—tiny pastries, finger sandwiches, and hot tea in elegant cups. The staff were incredibly polite and attentive, making sure everyone felt like royalty.
A masterpiece of Modern Engineering
As a Lounge ticket holder, one of the coolest perks was getting access to all the levels—from 124 and 125, all the way up to the exclusive 152 to 154 floors. So of course, I made sure to explore everything!
When I got to Levels 124 and 125, it was buzzing with energy. These are the main observation decks, and they’re more spacious and a bit livelier than the VIP floors. The views are still absolutely amazing—you can walk all around the floor and see the city and coastline through giant glass windows. It honestly felt like looking out from a floating spaceship over Dubai!
What made this level extra fun was the interactive displays. There were touch screens that helped me figure out what buildings I was looking at and gave fun facts about the city and the tower itself.
They also have a souvenir shop and some cute spots to take photos with themed backdrops. While 124 and 125 are busier than the higher lounge floors, they’re still amazing and full of energy. It’s where you really get that buzz of excitement, surrounded by people from all over the world—everyone in awe of this incredible view.
